December 2009 |

It took me a while to update my website. Today is the 6th of May 2010! As you can guess: As I write these lines it´s the morning of the 20th of December. It is-13,3 Grad Celsius outside and we do have lots of snow. So will we have a white Christmas this year? Not a chance! The weather will change within the next days. The day before Christmas we will get 10 Grad Celius and rain! I wonder if I´ll ever have a white Christmas again. I have to go out to take some winter shots before all the snow has gone. This was what I wrote on the 20th of December last year. This is one of the pictures I took on our little walk in the forest. Temperature was around -14 Degrees Celsius and falling and there was a strong wind so despite the sunshine it was anything but cosy. But the sun was shining and this is something that does not happen to often in our mostly grey winters. That´s why Sabine is wearing a big smile. It was a wonderful day. On our way back home the sun dissapeared behind the hill and the wind became stronger. Back in the house we put on the fire to get warm again. Of course there was no snow at Christmas eve. We got 13 Degrees Celsius and all snow melted away. The snow did come back though early January and stayed till March. Winters are different on the country side. In Vienna it was grey, wet and dirty. Here it´s also mostly grey and wet but sometimes it is just wonderful. If there is snow it´s stays for a long time and the snow remains white. Life on the countryside is simply better.
