After a very busy January with thousands of images February was rather low regarding photography. The reason? The weather on the weekends was poor ( grey and wet ) and I didn´t like to got out and take images. That´s the truth. But than something very special happend. My sister got a dog for her 8 year old son. I was very exited because I always wanted a dog when I was a kid but my mother was somehow scared of dogs and so I haven´t got one. My nephew had more luck than me and after a lot of research my sister finally bought this very lovely puppy. On 18th of February the special day was there: They drove to the breeder and took Omega ( name of the dog ) home. Omega is a Schapendoes - a rather rare dutch sheep dog. Right now she´s more of a sleep dog but she is really great. The image was one of the very first I took of her. She slept and I couldn´t wait till she woke up. I took a lot of images and even made a video ( very exiting stuff! ). I guess a will create a special Omega - folder on my website soon. For this shot I laid on the floor and supported the camera on the carpet. The carpet is long gone as Omega mixed it up with a lawn. For this kind of shots eyelevel works still best so if you want to take some images of your dog you better prepare to crawl around the floor ( or get a bigger dog of course ). I had a hard time to decide which image to take but I finally choose this one as it was taken on the first day and it also was one of the first images I took of Omega. As mentioned before I consider to create a special folder just for this lovely little dog. settingst: A-Mode, 1/10sec@f2.8, -0.7 EV, 400 ASA, Auto-WB ( but "warmed" in Capture ) |
