January 2007 |

January was almost as gray as December and November. It was unusally warm, almost no snow but a lot of gray and rainy days. Definitely not a winter for my taste. While I´m writting this it´s already March ( becauce I didn´t find the time to update my website. My job got more and more time consuming and we are also in the final stage of our house planing. In March we will have our ground-breaking ceremony. Not much time and ugly weather leads to not much images at all but I got myself a new digital pocket camera and that´s why I still took a lot of shots in January. This one was taken on one of my ramblings through the inner city of Vienna. The light was wonderful and I took a lot of images of St. Stephans cathedral, Heldplatz and Hofburg. Right before I left I recognized the sunlit fence of the Heldenplatz and decided to took this image. It took me a couple of shots to get the lamp right in the center of the hole in the fence and the camera to focus on the fence instead of the lamp. I like this camera. The quality of the image is great and at 100ASA it is almost as good as an image from a D-SLR. It is a great camera if you want to take images beside a little walk. It is almost invisible, makes no noise and it definitely does not attract as much attention as a D-SLR. That´s why a love these little cameras. So far it´s the best option on the market today but I really would love to see a better compact camera with larger sensor, view finder and a bigger and faster lens.
