June 2007

June was great too. Well at least regarding the weather. In fact it was too hot most of the time but I was very motivated to ride my bycicle and managed to have some nice weekends. Otherwise it was very busy. I was on a business trip in Switzerland ( with a very bumpy flight through a storm ) and on weekends we spent a lot of time in furniture and floor shops.

But the worst thing was that we had a burglary in our flat. They had stolen our computer screens, our watches, my road bike and - last but not least - my camera bag including almost all of my equipment! See my updated equipment list in reviews. I already bought a 18-200VR to be able to take photos.

The image above was taken on the 30th of June. I´m riding my new bike on a sunny and warm day. Of course I didn´t take my D2H with me on the ride but after I came home I took my camera and tried to make this image. I always had this image in mind: the riders view. Handlebars, frontwheel and the road - nothing else. I love to ride my bicycle! The longer exposure time blurrs the road surface and creates a sense of movement.

Why is it called "Good Vibrations". First because I like the way my new carbon bike adds comfort by reducing the vibrations caused by the road surface to a minimum. Second because I really like the effect of a long ride in the sun: It sets you in a food mood like the famous song from the Beach Boys. I have almost forgotten the burglary.

And here is an image of my bike taken in our kitchen ( well it needs some paintwork ( the kitchen )).
