May 2007

In May the weather was just great. Sunny weekends spent on the road bike and behind my Weber grill. Beside that I found some time to document the development of our house in a more serious way. That means: big camera, wide angle lens and tripod. Almost all images I took before were taken with the Fuji F31fd. Though the Fuji is a great little camera and as close as it gets to a DSLR regarding images quality it can not compare to the "real thing". Especially the 12-24mm wide angle is a dream lens for this type of shooting. The extreme wide angle makes everthing look much bigger than it is in real life. The only problem is that you have to take great care to avoid contortions. Best way to work around this is to put the camera on a tripod and level the camera. If you make a picture of a house you need a higher standpoint to be able to capture the whole building. In my case a climbed up a little hill of back dirt. We left it there because we will need it to rebuild our garden which is not exactly in the best condition as you can see. It is not necessary to mow the grass as there is none. Even more time left for biking and BBQ.

And here is an image of the architect of her and my house. ( Fuji F31fd, full auto, ISO setting: 800ASA! )
