Scotland 2002. Regarding the weather this summer wasn´t the best in Scotland and the rest of Europe. Days of long and heavy rainfall caused the worst flooding ever recorded in Central Europe.

Even in "normal" summers the sun is a rarely guest in the highlands. This summer it was worse. That´s why I have chosen this image for the picture of the month because it shows the delight in the seals face while bathing in the sun. After days of rain we felt the same.

Nikon D1 with 80-400 ( at 260 equivalent 400 on the D1 ). Exposure was tricky because of the high contrast in the strong sunlight. If I would have chosen a stronger exposure compensation then -0,5 the face and most parts of the picture would turned out too dark. I really love the sun but prefer "bad" weather ( overcast situations ) when taking pictures.
