Every photographer has his favourite subject: landscapes, wildlife, birds, closeups, sports or travel photography. But no matter what your favourite subject is the most touching subjects are people especially images of our family, our friends or our kids. Why? Because the show us how we were at that time. These images give us the chance to look back. Birds are my favourite subjects, I guess that over 70% of the images I take show birds but from time to time a try to make portraits of my friends or take images of their babies and kids. Images like these are very precious and their value rises as they grow older. And that brings me to my tip of the month: Take more portraits of your friends. You may take that perfect shot of a great white egret catching that big fish or of that dragonfly in flight at sunset and maybe you take a better one of the same subject next year - But you can´t turn back the time to take an image of your family, your friends or yourself that shows how everyone looks like a couple of years ago. Take these images now - in the future you will be glad that you have taken them. Image shows my best friend Josef holding five months old Leonie ( one "half" of his sisters twins ). Babies don´t have to laugh on every image. Sometimes it is more natural to take images of them when they are crying or looking fearful or tired. settings: A-mode, 1/100s@f2.8, WB: cloudy-3 ( but corrected via click white in Bibble ) |
