If the weather is terrible, the snow is gone and everthing is gray but you still want to go out and take pictures. For me there is only one place to go: the zoo. The zoo is a perfect place to go if I don´t want to travel far to a location or if a test new equipment.

This was taken on such a "gray day" on the 2nd of March. Because of the bad weather the zoo wasn´t overcrowded. Never go there when the sun shines. 1. Too many visitors 2. Lazy animals 3. Shadows! The best weather to shoot portraits, wildlife, closups, .. is when it´s overcast. The contrast is lower and everthing shows better, natural looking colors. If you use a Digitalcamera don´t forget to set white balance to cloudy otherwise you have to do a color balance correction in photoshop.
