October 2004

After a very busy September: I shot the wedding of a very close friend ( just have a look at the picture of the month September ) and a weekend trip to Venice/Italy ( where I took only my new Canon S60 ) things were quieter in October. I did some autumn leaves images in my garden, some very nice portraits ( again with a D70 ) and a couple of shots on a foggy sunday.

This image is one of them. You may wonder where the fog is in this image. The answer is simple: We left it behind by driving up a mountain. It was a wonderful sunny and warm day up there whilst it was foggy, grey and cold in the city. Just what the doctor ordered! As thousands of people drove there too it took us some time to find a quiet place. We just sat there and enjoyed the sun. I took my camera and made some images of the view.

This is the last image taken with my trusty D1 because after nearly 3 years of use I upgraded to a D2H. My camera has already found a lucky new owner and may take wonderful images for a very long time. I sold it to fund the D2H but even if I wouldn´t need the money I would sell a camera that I don´t use anymore. Why? Because I´m no museum and I think that they are made to take images and not to sit in a shelf.
