Last Update 28.12.2007 I can´t stop! Now I have updated my landscape folder. While my best landscape shots night be found under travel there are still some nice images there. Like I said before: I lost all film based images as I´m not able to scan them yet. But I love Lightroom! Without Lightroom such a task is a real pain. With Lightroom you can display all landscape images no matter in which folder they are on you harddisc. The star rating system 1-5 stars let´s you select the images you like most in a breeze. It´s an amazing tool. I also updated my close up and zoo folders.
Last Update 23.12.2007 I did it! I finally found the time to update my portrait folder. I renamed it into people and little people. Maybe there will be a dedicated BW people - folder in the future. The content of portrait folder was already very old and a lot of images were taken on slide film. Since I have no scanner I can´t resize them and because of that I have dropped them. Maybe I will get a high end A4 scanner from Epson which also scans slides to digitalize my old images.

Last Update 21.10.2007 I have uploaded a blog on my website. It´s a blog that deals with the building of our house. In 2003 we bought our garden and this year we started to build a house on it. The link can be found in the "in the garden" - folder.
Last Update 4.10.2007 There is a new folder in the gallery. It´s Black and White. I think I will shoot more black and white images in the future. I really like the impact of BW. With digital cameras it is also very simple and not limiting at all because you can shoot in color and than convert the image to BW. Shooting RAW you can even shoot in BW ( to be able to check the effect on the LCD of the camera ) and convert back to color later. And using Lightroom makes BW-conversion very simple and effective. It´s great.

Last Update 8.09.2007 After I quiet period I managed to update my website for the third time within a week. I wrote a Canon vs Nikon summary for those on the fence between the two suppliers. I hope you like it. You find it under REVIEWS.
Last Update: 2.09.2007 A new travel folder. Ireland once again! It contains images of our 2 week vacation in Ireland in July 2007. All images were taken with either a Canon 5D + 24-105IS and 70-200/4 IS or a Panansonic FX100 ( the images with the 4:3 aspect ratio ). They can be found under TRAVEL / IRELAND / IRELAND 2007.

Last Update: 16.04.2006 I added a hole new gallery named DOG. This gallery contains images of dogs ( as you might have already guessed ). Why did I dedicate a special folder for dogs? Because my sister got a dog ( see picture of the month February ) and I´m the brother with the camera. It is as simple as that. Hope you like them.

Last Update: 6.11.2005 What's new? This year in January I changed the design of my website to give it an even cleaner, fresher look. But I haven't changed the images in the folders and because of this most of them are not up to date anymore. Now I started with the first folder in the gallery - the bird folder. As this is my biggest folder there was a lot of work to do. I deleted a lot of images but added a lot of new ones too and so the total number of images remained high. I have reprocessed the original NEF files to get the most out of the shots. I also increased the size of the images to 500 pixel on the wide side ( instead of 400 pixel ) and the size of the index images to 100 pixel instead of 75. Moving from 400 to 500 pixel does not seem very much but it is an increase of over 60%. This means that someone with a very slow internet connection and a very low screen resolution might have a problem to view the images. But I think that a lot has changed in the last 5 years and internet connections had become faster and screen sizes and resolutions went up from 17 inch to 19 inch. I restricted myself to use uncropped shots that means almost all shots ( at least 90% ) are uncropped and not manipulated. They are just resized and sharpened for the web. It´s a kind of BEST OF of 4years of birdphotography. Hope you like them.

Last Update: 30.10.2005 As promised: the images of our one week vacation on Majorca. It´s a very nice island but there is far too much tourism to enjoy it. It´s almost impossible to find some quiet and peaceful places there but we tried it. All images were taken with my Canon Ixus 700 ( SD500 ). While this is written with the Canon Ixus 700 in mind - most of it is valid for all the other digital compact cameras from Canon and still a lot is usefull for other digital compacts as well. Last Update: 19.03.2005 A new folder in the travel section: Austria, the place where I was born and where I live. I started to take images of Vienna when I moved there over 15 years ago. As I didn´t shoot digital these days ( I guess nobody did ) all I got is a bunch of slides. As long as I didn´t find a way to get them into my computer I have to rely on new images. I rediscovered Vienna this January and all images in the Vienna - folder are not older than 2.5 months. Ramsau is a place we visit every year for our xc-skiing holiday. We always stay in the same room with a balcony where we got a wonderful view of the Dachstein ( mountain ).

Last Update: 9.01.2005 What´s new? I have changed the design! After 4 years I thought that changing the index image won´t be enough. So I changed the design of the whole site. I left the mouse-over effect which I like for navigation but changed the font to a better readable one. Instead of changing from grey to red the font now get´s larger on a selected folder button. The image still changes from black and white to color. I trow away a couple of things to make navigation cleaner. Now there are only 8 buttons on the left frame instead of 13! I made the changes because I think that sometimes you just need something new. It´s the same with wallpapers. I removed some images in the folders and added new ones but will make a major change in some folders in the near future. I hope you like the new design but even if not I would like to get your feedback.
Last Update: 7.01.2005 "I have cleaned house." I changed to a new index image and deleted some pages. Why? Because I didn´t like the old one any longer. The images it contained became old and were taken with my film cameras. I just wanted to take some new ones and change the appearance of my website. I also deleted some folders such as DIGITAL, LOMOS, WILDLIFE and SPORT. I deleted the DIGITAL-folder because I don´t like to do composite photographs. I did some in my early photoshop-days but don´t do it any more. I did LOMOS because I like this kind of approach to photography but found it difficult to do with digital cameras - maybe my new Sony T3 will change that? And finally I deleted WILDLIFE because where I live there is simply no chance to take good images of wildlife. It´s hard but images of squirrels or deer shot from a distance are not what I call good wildlifeshots. Beside that I deleted some infos regarding post processing and camera settings because they were no longer up to date and corrected some defects and broken links. This website went online 4 years ago and growed strong. Now it was time to trow away some old stuff.
